Funcie Funk Recording

Tonight I recorded five tracks for Funcie Funk. Everything went really smooth, and the band sounded great. We did have to tweak the tech plan, deciding that some of the drums needed some gates. That was pretty easy and quick to patch. We finished five tracks with all of the instruments, and two guitar overdubs for 4 songs and one for the last. Their new songs sound great, and I'm especially fond of a track titled "Get a Rip." We actually started an hour late, and didn't finish the sound check until 8:15. We began recording around 8:30, and, amazingly, we were finished at midnight. We even had time for a few breaks and dinner. The lead singer, Al, is just getting over being ill, so all of our vocal overdubs will have to happen this upcoming week. A big thanks to John for crewing tonight, things went a lot smoother and quicker with him there. And, of course, a big thanks to Stan. I'm excited to get the vocal overdubs recorded and start my mixes--the whole thing should turn out great.
